Bud and Doris Leas moved to Sunrise Beach, MO in 1970. Bud quickly got his feet wet, building his first dock where 11 West Condos are located today. A few years later, he partnered with Art Hanks to found Han-A-Lea Inc. The aspiring business owners moved to Roach, MO and manufactured docks and lifts on the Lake of the Ozarks.
Bud worked as a salesman for Mo-Zark for a short period before venturing out on his own to create D & B Enterprises with his wife. The couple bought 5 acres in Climax Springs, MO in 1981, and this is still the home of the company to this day. Bud retired in 1987, and his younger sons, Robert and Roger, took over. They changed the name to D & B Docks, and the business has been thriving ever since.
Roger is the president of D & B Docks, and that's a role he's held since 1988. He's proud to be a local boy, having graduated from Climax Springs High School in 1981. Roger handles dock estimates, service calls, advertising, and dock roofing orders. If you buy a dock from us, you'll probably see Roger. He's present for most builds!
Robert serves as vice president of D & B Docks. He's worked for the company since 1988, and he's still very hands-on. He handles all equipment maintenance, dock estimates, service calls, and orders. You'll see Robert on every build, and he works with flotations and more! He graduated from Climax Springs High School in 1979 and worked for L&M Ornamental Iron before joining the family business.
As Robert's wife, Debbie has always seemed like part of the team. The couple married in 1988, which is the same year Robert became vice president. Debbie officially joined D & B Docks in 1993, and she's been the secretary ever since. It's impossible to list her full job duties. Debbie is a part of everything we do!
Donna married Roger in 2004, and she's the go-to substitute when Debbie needs a day off. Donna is also ambitious in her own right. Since 1985, Donna has owned and operated a family water distiller business.
John joined D & B Docks in 1994, and he became the shop foreman in 2001. If you get a dock built by us, you'll probably meet John. He does a lot of the construction!
We've had David on staff since 2004. He's very active in the shop. He cuts steel, paints, lays out the bolts, and finishes minor welding. His technical prowess makes him invaluable!
Jack is affectionately known as Monkey Boy around the office. He can and will climb anything, and he works with welding in the shop and roof installation in the field. He's been with the team since 1998!
